Is the City of Ottawa aware of these bins?
Yes, our bins meet the City of Ottawa’s requirements.
We consulted with the City on the design, size, and functionality to ensure everything is compliant.
For garbage collection day:
• The hinge pin must be removed so the lid is fully detached.
• When you remove the hinge pin, the lid detaches. You can keep it on top of the bin or store it anywhere you prefer — what matters is that it is not attached.
Also, do not load more than 33 lbs (15 kg) into the bin.
How much does the bin weigh?
Due to variations in manufacturing, the weight of the bin falls between 6-8 kg (13-17 lbs). You can find all dimensions and specifications on our “Order Yours Today” page.
Are the lids removable?
Yes, the lids for the 140L bins (or if you select the 120L waste bin) are fully removable. These bins come with a hing option, which should be removed before garbage day to comply with City guidelines.
Is the bin capacity 140 litres?
Yes, after conducting volume tests, we can confirm that the bin has a capacity of 140 litres.
Are you affiliated with the City of Ottawa?
